| EKU Virtual Private Network (VPN) |

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) client software is required in order to access EKU resources that are restricted to on-campus use. The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client software provides a secure encrypted channel from your home to the campus.
The VPN connection will allow access to many campus resources.
- Remote Desktop
- Web (includes all port 80, 443 (SSL) services inside the firewall. Banner, EKU Direct, etc)
- FTP to the users W: drive, N: drive, and U: drive
Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client
You must connect to the Cisco AnyConnect system in order to gain access to university resources. You can NOT connect to the Anyconnect system from the EKU Network. The client is pre-configured and is provided to faculty and staff free of charge.
Connect to the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client, (You can NOT connect to the Anyconnect system from the EKU Network.)
Important
Once you have established a VPN connection, all of your university network traffic will be routed through EKU. Once you have finished accessing EKU resources, it is recommended that you disconnect the VPN client session. (Windows users right-click on the gold padlock icon in the system task tray at the bottom right of your screen and select 'disconnect'.)
